Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nutritional status and dysmenorrhea among female students attending SMA 2 Lubuk Pakam, Hamparan Perak No. 40, Lubuk Pakam—Deli Serdang, North Sumatra; to determine the relationship between physical activity and dysmenorrhea among female students attending SMA 2 Lubuk Pakam, Hamparan Perak No. 40, Lubuk Pakam - Deli Serdang, North Sumatra; and to determine the relationship between nutritional status and physical activity on dysmenorrhea among female students attending SMA 2 Lubuk Pakam, Hamparan Perak No. 40, Lubuk Pakam - Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. This correlational study was conducted to determine the relationship between nutritional status and physical activity levels among female students at SMA 2 Lubuk Pakam, located at Hamparan Perak No. 40, Lubuk Pakam, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. The sample size for this study was 20 female students. The research was conducted in the Lubuk Pakam District, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. To collect the data, questionnaires were distributed, body mass index (BMI) was calculated, and the participants’ height and weight were measured. Conclusions from the findings: There is a relationship between a person’s dietary habits and the risk of developing dysmenorrhea. The calculated r value is 0.789, and the table value is 5.773. There is a relationship between regular exercise and the absence of dysmenorrhea. The calculated r value is 0.668, while the table value is 0.4438. If the calculated F-value (10.431) is greater than the critical F-value (3.88), then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, indicating that there is a strong association between X1 and X2 jointly on Y. If H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, then there is an association between Nutritional Status and Exercise jointly on Dysmenorrhea. Based on the hypotheses presented above, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the independent factors and the dependent variable.
