Abstract


This study aims to determine the effect of learning styles on student achievement, the influence of learning styles on student learning motivation, the influence of learning motivation on student achievement, the influence of learning styles on student achievement with motivation as a mediation on IPS grade VIII SMP IT Siti Hajar Medan. The population in this study is all students of class VIII SMP IT Siti Hajar T.P. 2016/2017 which amounted to 133 people. The sample in this study amounted to 57 people. Data collection techniques used are observation, documentation and questionnaire. The data collected in this study were analyzed using simple regression data and mediation, parsial hypothesis and mediation variables. Based on the results of data analysis there is a positive and significant influence between learning styles on student achievement seen from the value of sig 0,000 <0.05, there is a positive and significant influence between learning styles to motivation seen from the value of sig 0.001 <0.05, there is influence positive and significant between the motivation to achievement seen from the value of sig 0.000 <0.005 and seen from the sig value of learning style 0,001 and motivation 0.002 which is known value <0.05 then there is a positive and significant influence between learning styles on student achievement with motivation as a mediation on the subjects of Social Studies Class VIII SMP IT Siti Hajar Medan.
