MENINGKATKAN MUTU PENDIDIKAN MELALUI REPOSISI MATA PELAJARAN MATEMATIKA DAN SAIN (MIPA) DI SEKOLAH MENEGAH ATAS MENGHADAPI GLOBALISASI

Abstract

Improving the quality of education through reposition of mathematics and science subjects in high school curriculum is very important to be implemented as it is believed that the quality of education could be achieved through improving the quality of science subjects in schools. Various factors have to be considered to improve mathematics and science subjects in school, those including the curriculum, teachers, teaching facilities, teaching activities, students, schools managements, monitoring and evaluation. Mathematics and sciences subjects in high school curriculum has to be allocated of minimum 30 hours per week based, those are covering of teaching and learning activities in the class room and laboratory. Professional science teachers have major contribution to improve the quality of students in preparing themselves on facing a free competition in the globalization era. Science teacher participates as facilitator, motivator, informatory, communicator, innovator, chancellors, evaluator and administrator in driving the education activities in schools. Facilities in schools such as classroom, laboratory, library, information technology, and educational media are also having great contribution on the quality of mathematics and science subjects in school.
