PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN DISCOVERY LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MAHASISWA PADA MATAKULIAH HIMPUNAN DAN LOGIKA MATEMATIKA
Abstract
This research aims to improve students’ mathematical problem solving abilities. The subjects are students of mathematics education extension C 2015 about 40 people, taking the mathematical logic and set theory on the first semester of 2015/2016. Furthermore, the object of this research is an application of discovery learning model to improve mathematical problem solving abilities of the students. While, this type of research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR), which is designed as two cycles and each cycle consisting of two meetings. The instruments used for collecting data are observation sheets, test sheets, and interview. Morover, data analysis technique is performed through three stages, namely reducing data, describing data, and drawing conclusions. The data obtained is reduced by classifying and organizing in order to obtain meaningful information, and then presented in the form of narrative, tables, and graphs. Based on the exposure data is then carried conclusion by comparing them with theories and indicators of success of the study. The results of this study indicate an increase in mathematical problem solving ability of students after the action is performed.
