This research discussed about Feminismin both selected novels Perempuan
Berkalung Sorban and The Color Purple
which aimed at finding out the types of
feminism, reason why can the figure of
women struggle of feminisms and the role
of women in both of the selected novels.
This research was based on Tong™s theory.
This research was conducted by using
descriptive qualitative method. The data
were taken from both selected novels
which have feminisms, they are
Perempuan Berkalung Sorban and The
Color Purple Novel. The findings showed
that there were 28 data, 24 data in types of
feminism in Perempuan Berkalung Sorban
and The Color Purple Novel.The dominant
types from both the novels is Liberal
Feminisms in Perempuan Berkalung
Sorban Novel, because the first character
from Perempuan Berkalung Sorban Novel
is Annisa who feels unfair treatment she
receives from her family;and there were 4
data in the role of women in domestic
sector can struggle in Perempuan
Berkalung Sorban and The Color Purple
Novel. The researcher concluded the
similar types of feminism, they were:
Liberal Feminism and Radical Feminism
