New Article Template Effective from Vol. 11 No. 1 (December 2026)

2026-10-24

Dear Authors, Reviewers, and Readers of JGK (Jurnal Guru Kita),

To improve the quality of our publications and journal management, the Editorial Board of JGK (Jurnal Guru Kita) is pleased to announce that starting with Volume 11 Number 1, December 2026, all articles will be published using a new article template.

The new template meets the scholarly journal management requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemdiktisaintek). It also follows the writing standards of reputable international journals. As a result, articles published in JGK will be easier to read, discover, and index in national and international databases.

The new article template is available in both Indonesian and English at s.id/TemplateArtikelJGK2026.

Key Changes in the New Template

The body of the article is now written in a single column instead of two, on A4 paper with 2.54 cm margins on all sides. Body text uses Times New Roman 11 pt with 1.15 line spacing, while section headings use Arial (sans-serif).

The first page has been redesigned. It now includes the article type label, the title, author names with superscript affiliation letters (a, b, c), and full affiliations covering the department, university, city, and country. The abstract is presented in a two-column block: the left column contains the Article History (received, revised, accepted, and published dates) and the keywords, while the right column contains the Abstract of 175–200 words. The name and email of the corresponding author now appear at the bottom of the first page.

Section headings are numbered as Introduction, Research Method, Results and Discussion (with Results and Discussion as subsections), and Conclusion. Tables use a three-line format with no vertical lines and have their title placed above the table, whereas figure titles are placed below the figure. Both tables and figures must state their source.

Following international standards, the template also adds several statements at the end of the article: Acknowledgements, Disclosure Statement on conflicts of interest, Funding, Author Contributions, Data Availability Statement, and the ORCID iDs of all authors.

References follow APA 7th edition style with a hanging indent and should be managed with Mendeley or Zotero. In English-language articles, Indonesian reference titles are followed by an English translation in square brackets.

Provisions by Manuscript Status

To ensure a smooth transition and minimise the burden on authors, the following provisions apply.

Manuscripts already accepted in the old template. Authors do not need to move their manuscript to the new template, as the editors will adjust it during copyediting and layout. Authors may be asked to confirm or provide additional information, such as ORCID iDs, funding statements, author contributions, and conflict of interest statements, and we kindly ask that these requests be answered promptly. Authors will receive a galley proof to check before the article is published.

Manuscripts currently under review. During the review process, manuscripts will continue to use the old template, so authors do not need to change the format when submitting revisions. Revisions should focus on content, based on the reviewers’ comments. Once the manuscript is accepted, the editors will adjust it to the new template in the same way as accepted manuscripts.

New authors and manuscripts not yet submitted. Authors must use the new template, available at s.id/TemplateArtikelJGK2026. Manuscripts submitted in the old template after this announcement will be returned to the authors for formatting before entering the review stage. Please read all instructions in the template before writing, as they form part of the JGK author guidelines.

Summary

In short, accepted manuscripts and manuscripts under review may keep the old template, and the editors will handle the adjustment to the new template once they are accepted. All new submissions must use the new template, and the formatting is the responsibility of the authors.
