Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat minat belajar siswa dalam pemilihan mata pelajaran peminatan di Sekolah Menengah Atas. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada fenomena banyaknya siswa SMA yang mengalami kebingungan dalam menentukan jurusan dan perencanaan karier masa depan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah 256 siswa kelas X di salah satu SMA Negeri di Surabaya yang dipilih dengan teknik total sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Angket Kebutuhan Peserta Didik (AKPD) dengan 50 butir pernyataan, namun hanya 12 butir relevan yang dianalisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori sedang dalam aspek minat belajar dan pengambilan keputusan peminatan. Aspek dengan kategori tinggi adalah pemahaman potensi diri (50,39%) dan pengaturan waktu belajar (41,42%), sedangkan kategori rendah terletak pada kesulitan memahami pelajaran (7,25%) dan kebingungan memilih ekstrakurikuler (17,58%). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kendala utama siswa bukan terletak pada aspek akademik murni, melainkan pada faktor non-akademik seperti pemahaman diri, manajemen waktu, serta kesiapan karier. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi dasar bagi penguatan layanan bimbingan dan konseling di sekolah, khususnya yang berfokus pada pengembangan potensi diri siswa dalam menentukan peminatan dan perencanaan karier masa depan.
