Pengaruh Pemanfaatan Media Pinterest terhadap Kemampuan Menulis Cerita Pendek Siswa Kelas VII SMP Yos Sudarso Medan

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemanfaatan media Pinterest terhadap kemampuan menulis cerita pendek siswa kelas VII SMP Yos Sudarso Medan. Masalah utama yang dihadapi siswa adalah rendahnya motivasi serta kesulitan dalam menemukan dan mengembangkan ide cerita. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen melalui desain One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh siswa kelas VII, dengan sampel sebanyak 28 siswa kelas VII-1 yang ditentukan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen tes menulis cerpen dan lembar observasi, yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat signifikan dari 44,89 saat pretest menjadi 77,07 saat posttest. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai thitung sebesar 12,37, yang jauh lebih besar daripada ttabel sebesar 2,006 pada taraf signifikansi α=0,05, sehingga hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Pemanfaatan platform Pinterest memberikan stimulasi visual kognitif yang efektif dalam membantu siswa mengatasi hambatan pencarian ide, menyusun struktur alur secara logis, serta mendeskripsikan latar dan tokoh cerita secara lebih hidup.
