IMPROVEMENT OF MATHEMATICS LEARNING OUTCOMES THROUGH PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL AT SD NEGERI 24 PALEMBANG
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the improvement of Mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in grade IV students at SD Negeri 24 Palembang. The reason behind this study is that the learning outcomes of Mathematics are still low due to the implementation of learning in the classroom that stillĀ learning and activities that lack critical thinking skills of students. This research includes a type of classroom action research that is carried out in two cycles and uses the Kemmis MC Taggart model with the stages of planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques are in the form of observations, interviews, tests, and documentation results. This study was conducted on 29 students in grade IV of SD Negeri 24 Palembang with the initiator of the success of the action if the percentage of completeness reaches 80%. The results of the study revealed that there was an increase in learning outcomes, which was originally 17,24% in the pre-cycle then increased to 51,72 % in the first cycle and reached 82,75% in the second cycle. Based on the results of this improvement, it was concluded that the Problem Based Learning model can reduce the learning outcomes of students in Mathematics.
