EFEKTIVITAS PENGAWASAN PUBLIKTERHADAP PROSES PENYUSUNAN PERATURANPERUNDANG-UNDANGAN STUDI KASUS: MEDIA SOSIAL TIKTOK

Abstract

In the digital era, social media is a powerful tool for public participation in policy-making. This study examines the effectiveness of TikTok as a public oversight platform in the legislative process of law-making in Indonesia. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with literature review methods, this study analyzes six TikTok contents related to controversial bills. The findings show that TikTok facilitates interactive engagement, such as criticism, opinions, and dissemination of information regarding legislative decisions. However, the influence of public opinion through TikTok is still limited in altering official legislation outcomes. This indicates the gap between public aspiration and the final policy decisions. This research is significant as it highlights the potential of TikTok as a digital democratic space and encourages institutional responsiveness to public input in the law-making process.
