Hubungan Indeks Masa Tubuh Dengan VO2max Pada Atlet Bolabasket

Abstract


Indeks Masa Tubuh (IMT) yang ideal sangat penting dimiliki oleh atlet bolabasket. Peningkatan IMT akan mempengaruhi pengambilan oksigen pada otot-otot yang bekerja dan kemudian berpengaruh terhadap tingkat volume maksimal (VO2max) yang diproses oleh tubuh. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan IMT dengan VO2max pada atlet bolabasket. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian analitik observasional dan menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Subjek penelitian ini adalah tim basket Satya Wacana Salatiga yang berjumlah 17 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampel jenuh dimana sampel adalah bagian dari seluruh jumlah populasi. Berat badan, tinggi badan dan VO2max diperoleh melalui pengukuran langsung. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji korelasi pearson yang dilanjutkan dengan analisis regresi liner. Hasil penelitian menemukan terdapat korelasi negatif antara IMT dengan VO2max (r=  -0,673) (p=  0,003) yaitu setiap peningkatan IMT sebesar 1 kg/m2 akan diikuti dengan penurunan VO2max sebesar 0,234 ml /kg/min. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa IMT memiliki hubungan secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan VO2max pada atlet basket.
