Kesulitan Belajar Siswa pada Materi Bangun Geometri dan Sifat-Sifatnya Di SDN 106806 Cinta Rakyat
Abstract
This study investigates the learning difficulties experienced by sixth-grade students at SDN 106806 Cinta Rakyat in understanding geometric shapes and their properties. Employing a qualitative research method with a literature review and classroom observation, the research identifies significant challenges faced by students in recognizing sides, angles, and differentiating between two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes. The findings reveal that over 90% of students were inactive during geometry lessons, struggled to connect abstract concepts to real-world objects, and often made errors in identifying geometric features. These difficulties are exacerbated by the predominant use of lecture-based teaching methods, minimal use of concrete teaching aids, and insufficient emphasis on fundamental concepts. The study concludes that integrating concrete and contextual learning strategies, supported by visual media and interactive activities, is essential to enhance students’ understanding of geometry and address their learning barriers.References
