Journal History

Quantitative Economics Journal is one of the media for the publication of scientific articles developed by the Postgraduate Economics Study Program, State University of Medan. Quantitative Economics Journal was first published on March 25, 2012 (Volume 01, No 01, March 2012). From 2012 to 2016, QEJ published 2 time per year with 5 articles for each number.

Initially, the Quantitative Economics Journal used the WordPress system, a free and open-source content management system (CMS) that uses PHP and the MYSQL database. However, according to the Ministry of Research and Higher Education policy which requires all journals to use the OJS (Open Journal System) system, in Volume 06, No 01, April 2020 QEJ migrated to the OJS version. Changes also apply to the website address, which initially had the address https://qe-journal.unimed.ac.id/ moved to https://jurnal.unimed.ac.id/2012/index.php/qe.

The process of migrating the QEJ website to OJS was also followed by various improvements to maintain the quality of service to loyal QEJ researchers and readers. Therefore, starting from Volume 06, Number 1 of 2017, the Quantitative Economics Journal publishes 3 numbers per year with 5 articles for each number. Furthermore, starting from volume 09 number 1 April 2020, the Quantitative Economics Journal publishes 2 numbers per year with 5 articles published for each number. QEJ also changed the cover design and color and required all article manuscripts to be written in English.
