Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of community participation motivation in playing volleyball in Maro Sebo Ilir District, Batang Hari Regency. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with the research object being community participation motivation in volleyball activities. The research sample consisted of 30 people determined thru accidental sampling, considering the active involvement of respondents in volleyball activities in the study area. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire survey instrument developed based on sports motivation indicators. The research instrument was first tested for validity and reliability to ensure the suitability of the measuring tool. Data analysis techniques were performed using percentage formulas to descriptively illustrate the level of community participation motivation. The research results show that the majority of respondents are in the very good motivation category with a percentage of 76.67%, followed by the good category at 20%, and the moderate category at 3.33%. There were no respondents in the poor or very poor categories. This finding indicates that the motivation for community participation in playing volleyball in Maro Sebo Ilir District is very high.
