HUBUNGAN ANTARA HARGA DIRI DAN PEMBELIAN KOMPULSIF DARING PADA MAHASISWA

Abstract


Pembelian menjadi cara mengatasi perasaan negatif kerap yang disebabkan rendahnya harga diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara harga diri dengan kecenderungan pembelian kompulsif daring pada mahasiswa. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan negatif antara harga diri dan kecenderungan pembelian kompulsif daring. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional terhadap 384 partisipan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan Online Compulsive Buying Scale yang dikembangkan dari Valence et al., (1988) dan Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (RSES) yang dikembangkan oleh Rosenberg (dalam Boduszek et al., 2012). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif antara harga diri dan kecenderungan pembelian kompulsif daring (p = 0.00; p <0.05). Hal ini berarti semakin tinggi harga diri yang dimiliki individu, maka semakin rendah tingkat kecenderungan pembelian kompulsif daring dan begitu pula sebaliknya. Penelitian ini memberikan manfaat bagi para peneliti bidang psikologi konsumen dan perguruan tinggi dalam mengurangi kecenderungan pembelian kompulsif daring mahasiswa
