Abstrak

This study aims to explore the lack of implementation of local wisdom-based teaching media in mathematics education at SDN 067098. The background of this research is the low relevance and appeal of mathematics learning in elementary schools due to the use of monotonous and uninnovative teaching media, making it difficult for students to understand mathematical concepts and reducing their enthusiasm for learning. However, the integration of local wisdom is considered capable of making learning more meaningful, contextual, and fostering a love for one's own culture. The method used was qualitative with an exploratory approach, through observation and interviews with teachers. The results of the study showed that mathematics learning at SDN 067098 was still conducted conventionally without linking the material to the cultural context or daily life of the students. Teachers acknowledge that they lack the necessary knowledge and training to develop teaching materials based on local wisdom. This situation indicates the need for teacher capacity building through systematic training and mentoring to make mathematics learning more contextual, enjoyable, and effective. These findings are expected to serve as the foundation for the development of innovative teaching materials based on local wisdom in the future.
