TARI DALAM TEATER TRADISIONAL MAKYONG DI SUMATERA UTARA

Teater adalah gedung pertunjukkan atau auditorium. Dalam arti luas, arti teater adalah segala tontonan yang dipertunjukkan di depan orang banyak. Pengertian teater juga bisa diartikan sebagai drama, kisah hidup dan kehidupan manusia yang dicertakan diatas pentas dengan media: percakapan, gerak dan laku didasarkan pada naskah yang tertulis ditunjang oleh dekor, musik, nyanyian, tarian, dan sebagainya. Berkaitan dengan pengertian diatas dapat dikaitkan bahwa dalam teater selalu diiringi oleh musik, lagu dan tari, semua unsur yang terdapat di dalam teater merupakan satu kesatuan dari kesenian, karena kesenian tersidi dari seni tari, musik, rupa dan drama.
