Dari aspek kesejarahan, musik berkembang sejalan dengan dinamika kebudayaan dari zaman ke zaman. Sejarah perkembangan musik diawali dari masa pra Historis, abad pertengahan, zaman Renaisance, zaman Barok dan Rokoko, zaman Klasik, zaman Romantik, peralihan menuju modern, dan zaman Modern. Setiap zaman memiliki karakter tersendiri baik dalam struktur atau bentuk komposisi, gaya, teknik bermain, penggunaan ragam alat musik dalam bentuk ensambel, orkes, atau combo. Selain itu, perkembangan konsep estetika atau ekspresi musikal, juga merupakan indikator penting dalam perkembangan ragam komposisi musik. Perkembangan tersebut merupakan dampak atau konsekuensi dari dinamika kebudayaan.Downloads
