PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE STAD TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI CAHAYA DI KELAS VIII SEMESTER II SMP NEGERI 10 MEDAN

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan  model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD terhadap hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa pada materi pokok Cahaya di Kelas VIII Semester II SMP Negeri 10 Medan T.A.2013/2014. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII yang terdiri dari 13 kelas paralel yang masing-masing berjumlah 30 orang siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah two group pretest-posttest design. Sampel penelitian diambil 2 kelas dengan cara cluster random sampling yaitu kelas VIII-L sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe  STAD dan kelas VIII-M sebagai kelas kontrol yang diajar dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen tes yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar yang digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan kognitif siswa dan lembar observasi yang digunakan untuk melihat aktivitas belajar siswa. Aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi pokok cahaya dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD di kelas VIII semester II SMP Negeri 10 Medan termasuk kategori cukup aktif. Hasil statistik menggunakan uji t pada taraf signifikan α=0.05 menunjukkan ada pengaruh yang signifikan pada penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok Cahaya di Kelas VIII Semester II SMP Negeri 10 Medan T.A.2013/2014.

ABSTRACT

The aims of this research was to find out the effect of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model to students learning outcomes and the increased activity in radiance concept in the eighth grade of the second semester of SMP 10 Medan in academic year 2013/2014. The population in this research were all of eighth grade , from 13 parallel class in each class consist of 30 students. Type of research is two group pretest-posttest design. Sample were taken from population which used cluster random sampling with class VIII-L as experimental class which teachable of STAD cooperative learning model and class VIII-M as control class which teachable of conventional model. Test instrument used is the achievement test which used to measure the cognitive abilities of students and observation sheets used to see the students learning activities. The increased activity in radiance concept which used of STAD cooperative learning model of eighth grade of the second semester of SMP 10 Medan included of category active. Based on the hypothesis test calculation using test ”t” with α=0.05 can be concluded that there are significant differences in learning outcomes which used of STAD cooperative learning model in radiance concept in the eighth grade of the second semester of SMP 10 Medan in academic year 2013/2014.
