PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TEAMS GAMES TOURNAMENT (TGT) TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI POKOK TEKANAN DI KELAS VIII SEMESTER II SMP NEGERI 15 MEDAN T.P 2013/2014

Abstract

ABSTRCT

This study aims to determine the effect of student learning outcomes using learning model Teams Games Tournament in the subject matter pressure in class VIII Semester II at Junior High School 15 Medan field study 2013/2014. This research is a quasi experimental research design with two group pre-test and post-test. The population in this study were all students of class VIII Semester II at Junior High School 15 Medan field study 2013/2014, which are 8 classes with 256 students. Class VIII-1 and VIII-2 was choose as experiments as a control class respectively. Sampling was done by cluster random sampling with a sample size of 30 people at each of the experimental and control classes. The instrument used to determine student learning outcomes are achievement test in the form of multiple-choice questios, consist of 20 items and of 4 options. The hypothesis testing was carried out using by t test two parties. Based on the results of the pretest data, an average value of 44 is related to experimental class and the average value of the control class is 43.5. From the results of the two classes of different test values ​​at significant level α = 0.05 obtained t = 0.246, table = 2.002, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference in pretest value of the second class, means that both classes have the same initial ability. After learning are given later in the second grade performed posttest. For the experimental class, an average value for the control class is 83.67 and the average values ​​is 76. From the results of testing the hypothesis with significance level of 0.05 was obtained = 3.978 and = 1.671. The hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the average activity of students in three sessions, 67.4% with the criteria quite active, so it can be concluded that there is influence learning model Teams Games Tournament on learning outcomes of students in the subject matter Pressure in class VIII Semester II at Junior High School 15 Medan field study 2013/2014.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament pada materi pokok Tekanan di Kelas VIII Semester II SMP Negeri 15 Medan tahun pembelajaran 2013/2014. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian two group pre-test dan post-test. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas Kelas VIII Semester II SMP Negeri 15 Medan tahun pembelajaran 2013/2014 yang berjumlah 8 kelas yang berjumlah 256 orang, yaitu kelas VIII-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII-2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara cluster random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 30 orang pada masing-masing kelas yaitu eksperimen dan kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa adalah tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk pilihan berganda yang berjumlah 20 soal yang terdiri dari 4 option. Hipotesis di uji dengan uji t dua pihak. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data pretes diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen 44 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol 43,5. Dari hasil uji beda nilai kedua kelas pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05 diperoleh t_hitung = 0,246, t_tabel = 2,002, maka dapat disimpulkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan nilai pretes kedua kelas, artinya kedua kelas memiliki kemampuan awal yang sama. Setelah pembelajaran diberikan kemudian pada kedua kelas dilakukan postes. Untuk kelas eksperimen diperoleh nilai rata-rata 83,67 dan untuk kelas kontrol diperoleh nilai rata-rata 76. Dari hasil pengujian hipotesis dengan taraf signifikan 0,05 diperoleh = 3,978 dan = 1,671. Karena  >  maka hipotesis (Ha) diterima dan aktivitas rata-rata siswa dalam tiga kali pertemuan, yaitu 67,4% dengan kriteria cukup aktif, sehingga dapat  disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok Tekanan di Kelas VIII Semester II SMP Negeri 15 Medan tahun pembelajaran 2013/2014.
