IMPLEMENTASI UU KIP SEBAGAI WUJUD PENERAPAN PRINSIP GOOD GOVERNANCE (STUDI KASUS DI PEMKO BINJAI)

Abstract

The openness of public information is a vehicle in optimum efforts to oversight the public authorities in governing and serving to the public interest. Law No. 14 of 2008 concerning Openness Public Information encourages implementation the openness of information in governing of state transparently and strengthening of public participation in public policies. This article studies the implementation of the Act in Binjai City. This study finds that the lack of knowledge by information and documentation management officer (PPID) in Binjai, even though the PPID has acknowledged the Act and the importance of access to information.
