PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA DIORAMA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS DESKRIPSI DI KELAS IV SDN 106162 MEDAN ESTATE T.A 2023/2024
Abstract
The aim of this research is to produce valid, practical and effective diorama media to improve the description writing skills of class IV students at SDN 106162 Medan Estate. Research conducted at SDN 106162 Medan Estate found several problems, namely: (1) there had never been any research conducted regarding the development of diorama media at SDN 106162 Medan Estate, (2) there was a lack of learning media during the teaching and learning process, (3) there was no innovative and creative learning media for learning to write, and (4) monotonous material makes students not interested in learning. This research uses R&D (Research and Development) research with the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The research results showed that media content expert validation was 80% in the "valid" category, media design validation was 92.3% in the "very valid" category, teacher practicality test results were 97% in the "very practical" category, and student response results were 89. 9% in the "very practical" category. The results of the description writing skills test obtained a completion percentage of 88.46%, obtaining an average score of 81.42 with the criteria "Complete" and included in the "effective" category. It can be concluded that the diorama media developed by researchers is valid, practical, and effectively used to improve students' descriptive writing skills.
