JMPSD is a scientific journal published by Medan State University and managed by the PGSD Unimed Study Program. It contains articles related to research results, education, learning, science, culture, technology, language, arts, social issues, and community service. JMPSD is published six times a year: in September, November, January, March, May, and July.

The editorial board welcomes manuscripts in the field of Elementary Education and Basic Education Studies.

Jurnal Merah Putih Sekolah Dasar (JMPSD) supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education). The journal publishes research articles that contribute to improving the quality of elementary education through innovative teaching and learning practices, inclusive education, teacher professional development, and sustainable educational practices.

Beyond SDG 4 (Quality Education), JMPSD contributes to the achievement of SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action) through research and practices in elementary education.
