PELATIHAN STRATEGI BELAJAR BERBASIS ATENSI, MEMORI, DAN REGULASI DIRI (SBAR) UNTUK GURU

Perkembangan kognisi berkaitan erat dengan performa akademik anak di sekolah. Faktor penting untuk prestasi akademik terdiri dari kemampuan kognisi, atensi, regulasi diri, memori, dan fungsi eksekutif. Kognisi mengacu pada kemampuan untuk mengkoordinasikan pikiran dan tindakan untuk mencapai suatu tujuan tertentu. Guru seringkali kesulitan mendeteksi adanya masalah kognisi karena seringkali bersamaan dan tertutupi dengan perilaku yang bermasalah. Ketidakpahaman akan deteksi adanya masalah kognisi anak, mengakibatkan penanganan yang dilakukan oleh guru menjadi kurang tepat. Dampaknya malah semakin menimbulkan menurunnya prestasi belajar di sekolah dan perilaku yang semakin kompleks dan bertambah buruk. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan kognisi yang disebut dengan Strategi Belajar Berbasis Atensi, Memori, dan Regulasi Diri (SBAR) yang dapat digunakan oleh guru untuk meningkatkan fungsi kognisi peserta didik sekolah dasar. Pelatihan SBAR memanfaatkan rangkaian cerita dan gambar yang dibagi menjadi enam tahap dimana tiap tahapan memiliki tingkat kesulitan yang terus meningkat. Pada setiap tahapan terdapat pre- post test yang mengukur atensi dan memori. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat melibatkan mitra dari guru sekolah dasar di wilayah depok. Persiapan acara, pelaksanaan, dan pelaporan akhir dilakukan dalam periode waktu lima bulan. Hasil akhir yaitu tercapainya pemahaman dan keterampilan guru untuk melakukan pelatihan kognisi kepada peserta didik yang bermasalah dalam kognisi serta berimplikasi pada peningkatan kemampuan belajar dan prestasi di sekolah.

Abstract
Cognitive development is closely related to children's academic performance at school. Important factors for academic achievement consist of cognition, attention, self-regulation, memory, and executive functions. Cognition refers to the ability to coordinate thoughts and actions to achieve a certain goal. Teachers often have difficulty detecting cognitive problems because they often coincide with problematic behavior. Lack of understanding of the detection of children's cognitive problems results in the ineffective treatments carried out by the teacher to be inappropriate. Consequently, it can cause a decline in learning achievement in schools and worsening problematic behavior. Therefore, the community service outlined in this article aims to provide cognitive training using the Learning Strategy Based on Attention, Memory, and Self-Regulation (SBAR) training methods that can be used by teachers to improve the cognitive function of elementary school students. SBAR training utilizes a series of stories and pictures which are divided into six stages where each stage has an increasing level of difficulty. At each stage, there is a pre-test that measures attention and memory in the form of a series of numbers and questions related to memory ability. The PKM (community service) event was assisted by research lecturers from UPNVJ, Medical Education and Research Center (MERCe) laboratory assistants, and a team from the Talenta Center. Event preparation, execution, and final reporting are carried out over a period of five months. With this community service, it is hoped that teachers’ understanding and skills in managing students with cognitive problems will be achieved so that students will be able to have higher achievements in school.
