Abstract

This study aims tStudi ini difokuskan pada analisis komparatif kemampuan motorik kasar antara peserta didik laki-laki dan perempuan kelas 2B di SD Negeri 05 Surau Gadang dengan menggunakan indikator Gross Motor Quotient (GMQ) dari instrumen TGMD-2. Penelitian dilaksanakan melalui pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain perbandingan antarkelompok. Subjek penelitian melibatkan 26 siswa yang diklasifikasikan berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Pengolahan data mencakup uji Shapiro–Wilk untuk normalitas, Levene’s Test untuk homogenitas, serta uji t dua sampel independen dengan asumsi varians tidak sama. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan distribusi data normal namun varians tidak homogen. Analisis t-test mengungkap adanya perbedaan signifikan kemampuan motorik kasar (t = -5,06; p < 0,01), di mana siswa laki-laki memperoleh skor GMQ yang lebih tinggi. Besarnya selisih rerata dan effect size mengindikasikan perbedaan yang substansial. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa faktor jenis kelamin berperan dalam perkembangan motorik kasar siswa, sehingga pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani perlu memberikan ruang aktivitas yang adil dan adaptif, terutama bagi siswa perempuano analyse the differences in gross motor skills between boys and girls in class 2B of SD Negeri 05 Surau Gadang based on Gross Motor Quotient (GMQ) scores using the Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (TGMD-2) instrument. This study used a quantitative approach with a comparative design. The sample consisted of 26 students divided into two groups based on gender. The data were analysed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, Levene's test of homogeneity, and independent samples t-test with the assumption of unequal variances. The results showed that the data were normally distributed but not homogeneous. The t-test revealed a significant difference between the gross motor skills of boys and girls (t = -5.06; p < 0.01), with boys having higher GMQ scores than girls. The difference in means and the large effect size indicate a statistically and practically significant difference. These findings confirm that gender influences the gross motor development of students. This study recommends that physical education programmes provide balanced and appropriate physical activities, especially to improve the motor development of girls.
