PENGARUH PEMBERIAN VIRGIN COCONUT OIL TERHADAP PARAMETER HEMA TO LOG I TIKUS P ADA AKTIFIT AS FISIK MAKSIMAL

Abstract


Abstract- Aktivitas fisik berat maupun olahraga aerobik dapai
menimbulkan stress oksidatif akibat produksi radikal bebas melebihi
antioksidan pertahanan seluler. Stres oksidatif dapat mempengaruhi kadar
hematologi yang mengakibatkan menurunnya performance atlet. Stres
oksidatif dapai dicegah atau dikurangi dengan pemberian antioksidan. Salah
satu sumber alami yang mengandung antioksidan adalah Virgin Coconut
Oil (VCO). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meneliti pengaruh VCO terhadap
parameter hematologi pada tikus pada aktivitas fisik maksimal. Penelitian
menggunakan pretest-postest control group design. Dua puluh empat tikus
dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok. Kelompok kontrol (PO) diberikan 1,5 ml air
suling, kelompok intervensi (Pl), (P2) dan (P3) diberikan VCO dengan
dosis berbeda (masing-masing 1 ml, 2 ml, dan 3 mllhari). Semua kelompok
dilatih untuk berenang selama 4 minggu dan kemudian dipaksa untuk
berenang tanpa beban sampai kelelahan. Dilakukan pengukuran parameter hematologi meliputi jumlah eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, hematokrit dan
jumlah leukosit. Hasil analisis menunjukkan kadar hemoglobin, jumlah total eritrosit dan hematokrit meningkat secara signifikan (P <0,05) dan jumlah total leukosit menurun secara signifikan (P<0,05) pada kelompok intervensi.
