Abstrak

This study is a meta-analysis evaluating the effectiveness of inquiry-based learning using the SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, Society) approach integrated with Riau's ethnoecology in the context of science education. Data were obtained from 15 relevant studies through searches in trusted databases for the 2020–2024 period. The results indicate that this approach has a significant impact on improving conceptual understanding (35%), critical thinking skills (28%), and students' environmental awareness (80%). Analysis using the VOSviewer software identified inquiry as the core of learning, supported by relevant technology and ethnoecological values. These findings underscore the importance of integrating locally and globally oriented approaches in science education, particularly to enhance the relevance of learning materials to students' daily lives. The study's implications include the development of SETS and ethnoecology-based learning modules and teacher training to optimize classroom implementation.
