Penerapan Model Project-Based Learning untuk Mengintegrasikan Konsep Matematika dan Ekonomi pada Topik Program Linear

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur efektivitas model Project-Based Learning berbasis ekonomi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep program linear dan motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian kuasi-eksperimen ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 3 Medan dengan desain Non-Equivalent Control Group. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas XI, yakni kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan model PjBL berbasis ekonomi dan kelas kontrol dengan metode konvensional. Data diperoleh melalui pre-test, post-test, lembar observasi, dan angket motivasi siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor post-test siswa di kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi (85,7) dibandingkan kelas kontrol (72,3), dengan skor N-Gain masing-masing 0,67 (kategori sedang) dan 0,38 (kategori rendah). Motivasi belajar siswa di kelas eksperimen juga meningkat signifikan sebesar 31,2% dibandingkan 14,5% di kelas kontrol. Observasi menunjukkan peningkatan keterlibatan siswa dalam partisipasi aktif, kerja sama kelompok, dan penyelesaian proyek. Model PjBL berbasis ekonomi terbukti efektif dalam mengaitkan teori matematika dengan aplikasi ekonomi nyata, mendorong siswa berpikir kritis, berkolaborasi, dan menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan model PjBL dalam topik matematika lainnya untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan relevan dengan dunia nyata
