This study aims to determine the differences in altruism between male and female school counselors in providing individual counseling services at SMA Negeri 1 Sunggal during the 2024/2025 academic year. Altruism is defined as the sincere willingness to help students without expecting any reward, demonstrated through empathy, belief in a just world, social responsibility, internal locus of control, and low egocentrism. This research employed a descriptive quantitative comparative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 105 students who had received individual counseling services, along with 5 school counselors as supporting data. The instrument used was a Likert scale questionnaire b4ased on altruism aspects, and the data were analyzed using an independent t-test. The results showed a statistically significant difference in the level of altruism between male and female school counselors, with t = -2.209 and sig. (2-tailed) = 0.029 (p < 0.05). Female school counselors had a higher average altruism score of 98.92, compared to 96.55 for male school counselors. These findings indicate that female school counselors tend to demonstrate a higher level of altruism in delivering individual counseling services. This study offers valuable implications for professional development in school counseling, especially in recognizing the influence of gender in counseling dynamics.References
