Abstract

4–6 year olds experience significant growth and development. Interaction with the environment becomes an important stimulant in their cognitive development. Constructive beam play is an effective medium, but variational limitations can reduce children's interest. This study aims to design innovative beam gaming tools with a user-centered design approach, so that they can meet the needs and preferences of 4-6 year olds and support their development optimally. With qualitative methods, it is hoped that the final design produced can be an effective tool to strengthen aspects of children's development. These measures highlight the importance of incorporating children's needs and preferences into the design process so that the final product is more appropriate and relevant for use by children. The final results of this study were a constructive beam APE design that had safety materials, and a constructive system suitable for 4-6 year olds.
