A Community-Based Digital Literacy Model: Enhancing Digital Citizenship Through the Jiwa Baru Project

The digital literacy gap among rural communities is a challenge that has received limited research attention, particularly the development of digital citizenship. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the digital literacy program conducted by the Jiwa Baru Project in Margamulya Village, Bandung Regency through its flagship program, LAKOLING and to determine the program's relevance in enhancing the community's understanding of digital citizenship values. The research approach chosen was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results showed this program has proven effective in improving the community's technical skills in operating digital technology and fostering responsible, ethical, and active attitudes in the digital space. The digital literacy program not only reduces technological illiteracy but also strengthens community awareness of the rights and obligations of digital citizens. In conclusion, the community-based digital literacy model has proven relevant in fostering an understanding of digital citizenship among rural communities. The researchers recommend further studies focusing on analyzing the long-term impact of digital literacy programs on the social and economic changes within these communities.
