Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh regulasi emosi terhadap ketangguhan mental (mental toughness) dengan aktivitas fisik sebagai variabel moderator pada atlet remaja. Ketangguhan mental merupakan aspek psikologis penting yang menentukan kemampuan atlet dalam menghadapi tekanan kompetitif dan mempertahankan performa optimal. Kemampuan regulasi emosi yang baik diyakini dapat meningkatkan ketangguhan mental, sedangkan aktivitas fisik berperan dalam memperkuat hubungan keduanya melalui peningkatan kontrol diri dan keseimbangan psikologis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif non-eksperimental dengan desain korelasional moderasi. Populasi penelitian adalah 113 atlet remaja di salah satu sekolah SMA Negeri Olaharaga di Jawa Timur berusia 16–17 tahun, terdiri dari 71 perempuan dan 42 laki-laki. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi Emotion Regulation Questionnaire-Short Form (ERQ-S6), Mental Toughness Questionnaire-18 (MTQ-18) yang diadaptasi oleh Yudiarso et al. (2025), dan International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ-7) versi 2016. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan program JASP dengan uji statistik deskriptif, korelasi Pearson, regresi linear, dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa regulasi emosi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap ketangguhan mental (p < 0,05), sedangkan aktivitas fisik tidak menunjukkan pengaruh langsung yang signifikan, namun memperkuat hubungan antara regulasi emosi dan ketangguhan mental. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa keseimbangan antara pelatihan psikologis dan fisik memiliki peranan penting dalam meningkatkan daya tahan mental atlet remaja.
