PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN ARGUMENT DRIVEN INQUIRY BERBANTUAN VIRTUAL LABORATORY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN LITERASI SAINS MAHASISWA PGSD
Abstract
Abstact: The purpose of this study is to get an idea of the differences in the increase in scientific literacy skills of elementary school teacher candidates, between students who get basic science learning concepts using Virtual Laboratory through the Argument Driven Inquiry learning model with students who only apply the Argument Driven Inquiry learning model without using the Virtual Laboratory. The study was conducted using a quasi-experimental method with a randomized control group design pretest - posttest design. The population is all students of odd semester elementary school teacher candidates at Medan State University. Samples of two classes were selected by cluster random sampling. The results showed that the normalized gain average score <g> for scientific literacy skills in the experimental class was 0.75 which met high criteria, while in the control class it was 0.47 which met the middle criteria. Based on the average difference test, at the 95% confidence level, the results of the study show that the learning model of virtual laboratory argument driven inquiry can significantly improve the ability of scientific literacy compared to the learning model of the argument driven inquiry without the virtual laboratory.

Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains calon guru sekolah dasar, antara mahasiswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konsep dasar IPA menggunakan virtual laboratory melalui model pembelajaran Argument Driven Inquiry dengan mahasiswa yang hanya menerapkan model pembelajaran Argument Driven Inquiry tanpa menggunakan virtual laboratory. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kuasi-eksperimental dengan desain pretest - posttest desain. Populasi adalah semua mahasiswa calon guru sekolah dasar semester ganjil di Universitas Negeri Medan. Sampel dari dua kelas dipilih dengan cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata gain yang dinormalisasi <g> untuk keterampilan literasi sains di kelas eksperimen adalah 0,75 yang memenuhi kriteria tinggi, sedangkan di kelas kontrol 0,47 yang memenuhi kriteria sedang. Berdasarkan uji perbedaan rata-rata, pada tingkat kepercayaan 95%, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran argument driven inquiry berbantuan virtual laboratory dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains mahasiswa dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran argument driven inquiry tanpa virtual laborator.
