ANALISIS KARAKTER MANDIRI DALAM PELAKSANAAN EKSTRAKULIKULER DRUMBAND SISWA

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the development of students’ independent character through drum band extracurricular activities in elementary school. Independent character is an essential aspect of student development, reflecting their ability to take initiative, manage time, and take responsibility for their tasks. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that students’ active participation in drum band practice enhances their discipline, sense of responsibility, and initiative. The cultivation of an independent character occurs through regular practice routines, role distribution, and periodic performance evaluations. In conclusion, drum band extracurricular activities contribute positively to fostering independent character in elementary school students, especially when supported by coaches and a conducive environment. Keywords: Independent Character, Drum Band Extracurricular Activities Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pembentukan karakter mandiri siswa melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler drumband di sekolah dasar. Karakter mandiri merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam perkembangan peserta didik, yang mencerminkan kemampuan siswa dalam mengambil inisiatif, mengelola waktu, dan bertanggung jawab terhadap tugasnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam latihan drumband dapat meningkatkan sikap disiplin, tanggung jawab, dan inisiatif. Pembinaan karakter mandiri terjadi melalui rutinitas latihan, pembagian peran, serta evaluasi kinerja secara berkala. Kesimpulannya, ekstrakurikuler drumband berkontribusi positif dalam menumbuhkan karakter mandiri pada siswa SD, terutama ketika didukung oleh pelatih dan lingkungan yang kondusif.
