This journal aims to bridge the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinions, in addition to a critical analysis of progress in biological education research. Through the scope of policy and curriculum developments, the latest research results and their application in the teaching, learning, and assessment of biology in the future. Particular emphasis is placed on research relevant to educational practice, guided by the realities of education in systems, schools, colleges, and universities.

Journal of Biology Education is a national electronic journal which is a forum for publishing original research articles related to biological education research. This journal is managed by the Biology Education Study Program, Postgraduate Program, Medan State University. This journal is published three times a year in April, August, and December. This journal presents the results of research in the field of Biology Education.

The scope of the Biology Education Journal is:
