Eksplorasi Peran Ekskul PIK-R dalam Mengasah Keterampilan Public Speaking Anggota melalui Kegiatan Presentasi Mingguan

Keterampilan public speaking merupakan kompetensi krusial bagi siswa SMA untuk mendukung perkembangan akademik, sosial, dan profesional. Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi peran ekstrakurikuler Pusat Informasi dan Konseling Remaja (PIK-R) dalam mengasah keterampilan public speaking melalui kegiatan presentasi mingguan. Sebanyak 18 siswa kelas X dan XI di SMA Negeri di Kota Medan diwawancarai secara semi terstruktur, dipilih melalui purposive sampling berdasarkan variasi gender, tingkat keaktifan, dan masa keanggotaan. Analisis tematik mengungkap bahwa presentasi mingguan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, kelancaran berbicara, penguasaan materi, dan kemampuan berinteraksi dengan audiens. Tantangan seperti kegugupan, kesulitan mencari informasi, dan pertanyaan tak terduga turut muncul, terutama pada anggota baru dan pasif. Sistem rotasi presentasi antar divisi memberikan kesempatan latihan merata, meskipun manfaatnya bervariasi berdasarkan lama keanggotaan dan keaktifan. Penelitian ini menyarankan sesi refleksi pasca-presentasi, kegiatan luar sekolah, dan pelatihan formal untuk optimalisasi program PIK-R. Temuan ini berimplikasi bagi pendidik dan pengelola ekskul dalam pengembangan keterampilan komunikasi remaja.References
