About the Journal

Genre Journal (E-ISSN: 2986-1551/P-ISSN: 2301-5160) is an open-access journal of applied linguistics that serves as a dynamic platform for sharing research and innovations in English language education and linguistics. It publishes original studies that explore various aspects of language learning, teaching, and use—including English-based technologies, language variation, and the development of English learners in multicultural and digital contexts. With a focus on discourse analysis, stylistics, higher education, and TESOL, the journal aims to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and foster academic dialogue among educators, researchers, and practitioners globally.

Genre Journal also embraces a wide array of linguistic subfields such as phonology, pragmatics, morphology, grammar, and English language assessment. It welcomes contributions that investigate both theoretical and practical dimensions of modern languages and applied linguistics. Published four times a year by the English and Literature Program, Faculty of Language and Arts, Universitas Negeri Medan, Genre Journal is committed to advancing scholarly work that shapes the future of English education and language studies in the digital era.
