This study was motivated by the low speaking skills of elementary school students and the limited use of innovative learning media in classroom instruction. The study aimed to describe the implementation of a local wisdom-based Snakes and Ladders learning model assisted by Google Sites in improving students' speaking skills. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving 26 students of SDN 101772 Tanjung Selamat.
The findings revealed that the implementation of the local wisdom-based Snakes and Ladders learning model assisted by Google Sites created a more interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Students demonstrated increased confidence in expressing opinions, improved fluency in storytelling, and enhanced vocabulary mastery. Observation results showed that 73.1% of students were able to express ideas well in storytelling activities, while 26.9% of students still required guidance to develop their confidence in speaking. The integration of local wisdom content also helped students understand cultural diversity and relate learning materials to their daily lives.
In conclusion, the implementation of a local wisdom-based Snakes and Ladders learning model assisted by Google Sites is effective in improving elementary school students' speaking skills and fostering their appreciation of local culture.
