Abstract

Abstract: This reserch aims to identify the challangers in facing the digital era, particularly in the border areas. The reasearch uses a mixed-methods approach. Quantitative data was collected through questionnaires, while qualitative data was gathered through interviews with school principals, Catholic religious education teachers, and students. The results reveal several significant obstacles, including limited school Wi-Fi access, which restricts students' internet usage, difficulties for some students in operating laptops/computers, and distractions from phone notifications during lessons. Additionally, infrastructural challenges such as unstable signal and electricity, as well as the negative impacts of the internet like online gambling, also pose challenges.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tantangan menghadapi era digital, khususnya di daerah perbatasan. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode Mixed Method. Data kuantitatif dikumpulkan melalui angket, sedangkan data kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui wawancara kepala sekolah, guru pendidikan agama katolik, dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan berbagai kendala signifikan, meliputi keterbatasan akses Wi-Fi sekolah yang membatasi penggunaan internet siswa, kesulitan sebagian siswa mengoperasikan laptop/komputer, serta distraksi dan notifikasi HP saat pembelajaran. Selain itu kendala infrastruktur seperti sinyal dan listrik, serta dampak negatif internet seperti judol juga turut menjadi tantangan.
