Protocol for Plagiarism Check
ALTRUISTIK : Jurnal Konseling dan Psikologi Pendidikan is committed to maintaining originality, academic integrity, and responsible scholarly writing. Every manuscript submitted to the journal must be an original work, must not have been published previously, and must not be under consideration by another publication at the same time.
Authors are responsible for acknowledging all ideas, statements, findings, tables, figures, and other materials that originate from other sources. Direct quotations should be clearly identified and accompanied by appropriate references. Paraphrased material must also be properly cited.
All submitted manuscripts are reviewed for textual similarity using Turnitin before proceeding to the next stage of the editorial process. The similarity report is used as supporting information for editorial assessment. The similarity percentage is not used as the only basis for determining the originality of a manuscript. Editors also examine the source and context of any matching text.
As a general guideline, the journal applies the following similarity levels.
- A manuscript with a similarity level below 15 percent may proceed to further editorial evaluation, provided that all borrowed ideas and text have been properly acknowledged.
- A manuscript with a similarity level between 15 and 40 percent may be returned to the author for revision. Authors may be asked to improve paraphrasing, correct citations, and reduce unnecessary textual similarity before the manuscript is considered again.
- A manuscript with a similarity level above 40 percent may not proceed to the next stage when the editorial assessment identifies substantial textual overlap, inadequate citation, or insufficient originality.
- Authors who are asked to revise their manuscripts should carefully review all matching sections and ensure that quotations, paraphrases, and references are presented appropriately.
- A low similarity percentage does not automatically guarantee acceptance, while a higher percentage does not automatically indicate academic misconduct. The final decision is based on editorial assessment of the similarity report, the nature of the matched text, and the overall academic quality of the manuscript.
ALTRUISTIK reserves the right to discontinue the evaluation of a manuscript when serious concerns regarding originality, attribution, or duplicate publication are identified.
