Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

1. Scope and Submission Types

Jurnal Geografi accepts original research articles, review articles, and conceptual papers related to geography, geospatial science, environmental studies, socio-spatial planning, and related fields.

2. Language

Manuscripts may be written in English. The abstract must be provided in both languages, each not exceeding 200 words.

3. Manuscript Format

  • Format: Microsoft Word (docx)

  • Page Size: A4, single-sided, one space

  • Page Limit: Maximum 14 pages

  • Columns: Two-column layout

  • Margins: 2.54 cm on all sides

  • Font: Book Antiqua, 11 pt

4. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript must contain the following sections (section numbers are not required):

  • Title

  • Author's Full Name and Affiliation

  • Abstract (English)

  • Keywords (3–5 words)

  • Introduction

  • Methodology

  • Results and Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • References

  • Appendices (if applicable)

5. Tables and Figures

  • Tables: Title placed above, left-aligned, with smaller font than main text

  • Figures: Title placed below, center-aligned

  • All tables and figures must be cited in the text and submitted in editable format

6. Citation and References

  • All references must follow APA Style (7th edition)

  • Use reference management tools (Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote) for consistency

  • Ensure that at least 60% of references are from recent publications (last 10 years)

7. Originality and Ethical Compliance

  • Manuscripts must be original, not published or under review elsewhere

  • Similarity index (Turnitin or equivalent) must be below 15%

  • All authors must disclose any conflict of interest

8. Peer Review Process

  • The journal adopts a double-blind peer review process

  • Authors will receive feedback within 30–40 working days

  • Revisions must be submitted within the specified time frame (usually 2–3 weeks)

9. Submission Deadline

Manuscripts must be submitted no later than one month before the publication schedule.
