RESULTS OF ORIGAMI A PLEATED PENTAGON DRESS USING SHANTUNG AND DUCHESSE MATERIA

Abstract


Origami is a traditional paper craft technique originating from Japan. The technique used is transformational reconstruction, which is a creative pattern-making technique by creating a three-dimensional effect on fashion pieces. One of the designs using the origami technique is the pleated pentagon origami, which is applied to a dress. The creation of a pleated pentagon origami dress is influenced by the type of fabric used. This study aims to describe the results of a pleated pentagon origami dress made with shantung and duchesse fabrics, reviewed from the aspects of origami shape stability, origami folds, and size accuracy, and to describe the differences in the results of the pleated pentagon origami dress made with shantung and duchesse fabrics. This type of research is applied research. Data collection methods used questionnaires with research instruments using a likert scale assessment evaluated by 15 panelists. Data analysis techniques included descriptive quantitative and inferential analysis. The results showed that the pleated pentagon origami dress made with duchesse fabric received the highest average score with a percentage of 78,60%, categorized as appropriate. Based on the independent sample t-test, there was a significant difference in the results of the pleated pentagon origami dress made with shantung and duchesse fabrics, with a significance value of 0,001<0,05.
