Abstract

The pattern system in clothing has a big influence on how well and comfortable an outfit is when worn. There are various pattern systems that apply universally in Indonesia, one of which is the Antonio Donnanno pattern system from Italy. The purpose of this research is to describe the weaknesses, how to improve and suitability of the basic pattern of the Antonio Donnanno system on the ideal body shape of Indonesian women. The type of research is experimental research. The object of research is the basic pattern of the Antonio Donnanno system which was tested on ideal Indonesian women, with a height of 168 and a weight of 58 kg. The instrument used was a questionnaire/questionnaire using a Likert scale. The assessment was carried out by 3 panellists who are experts in the field of women's patterns, namely fashion planning lecturers FPP UNP. The data analysis technique used was descriptive quantitative with the results showing that the basic pattern of the Antonio Donnanno system has 3 weaknesses. The weaknesses include the body pattern, which is found in 1) Narrow neck circumference as much as 1 cm, 2) Excess face width of 2 cm. The weakness in the basic pattern of the skirt is on the side of the pelvis which is 2 cm excess. The adjustment of the basic pattern of the Antonio Donnanno system is obtained by fixing the weaknesses found so that the pattern is suitable and can be used on the ideal body shape of Indonesian women.
