Copyright of articles published in the Journal of Architecture and Spatial Planning (JASP) is retained by the authors.
By submitting a manuscript to JASP, authors confirm that the submitted work is their original contribution and that they have the necessary rights to submit and publish the manuscript. Authors are also responsible for ensuring that the manuscript does not infringe the copyright, intellectual property rights, or other rights of any third party.
1. Author Copyright
Authors retain copyright and other applicable intellectual property rights in their published work.
Publication in JASP does not transfer copyright ownership from the authors to the journal.
Authors may use, share, and disseminate their published work in accordance with the applicable licensing conditions and with appropriate acknowledgment of its publication in JASP.
2. Right of First Publication
By accepting a manuscript for publication, authors grant JASP the right of first publication and the necessary non-exclusive rights to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, and make the article publicly available through the journal's electronic platform.
This arrangement allows JASP to disseminate the article while the authors retain copyright ownership.
3. Third-Party Materials
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials belonging to third parties, where such permission is required.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- photographs;
- architectural drawings;
- maps;
- figures;
- tables;
- diagrams;
- illustrations; and
- other copyrighted materials.
Appropriate acknowledgement and attribution must be provided for third-party materials included in the manuscript.
4. Author Self-Archiving and Sharing
Authors may share and disseminate their published articles through appropriate academic and institutional channels, subject to the applicable licensing conditions.
Authors are encouraged to use institutional repositories, academic profiles, and other scholarly communication platforms to increase the visibility and accessibility of their research.
When sharing the published article, authors should provide appropriate bibliographic information and acknowledge JASP as the original place of publication.
5. Licensing
The licensing terms applicable to each published article will be clearly indicated on the journal website and on the published article.
The applicable license governs how readers and other users may reuse, distribute, reproduce, or adapt the published work.
Authors and users are expected to comply with the conditions of the applicable license and to provide appropriate attribution when reusing published material.
6. Responsibility for Content
The views, interpretations, findings, and conclusions expressed in published articles are those of the authors.
Publication of an article in JASP does not imply that the journal, editors, reviewers, or Universitas Negeri Medan endorse all statements, interpretations, or conclusions presented by the authors.
Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the content of their published work.
7. Copyright and Open Access
JASP supports open access to scholarly knowledge while respecting the copyright and intellectual property rights of authors and third parties.
The journal provides immediate and free access to published articles in accordance with its Open Access Statement and applicable licensing conditions.
Any permitted reuse of published material should comply with the stated license and include appropriate acknowledgement of the original publication in JASP.
