Guidelines for Reviewers

Article Substance Review

Your review will dissect the material according to the standard components of the article. If the content deviates significantly, please include your comments.

  1. Title: The title should adequately describe the subject of the manuscript, be clear, precise and not subject to multiple interpretations. Please suggest a title if needed.
  2. Abstract: The abstract should briefly state the purpose of the study, the methods used, the results, and the main conclusions. Please be reminded that the abstract is the most widely read part of the paper.
  3. Review of References: Authors should give credit to the contributions of others relevant to the article through citations. Citations in the introduction should be able to demonstrate the innovation and/or novelty of the authors through gap analysis. Citations should not be excessive.
  4. Objectives: The purpose of the article review should be well explained and will be able to answer the hypothesis.
  5. Methods: The methods used to achieve the objectives should be described precisely and in sufficient detail to enable a competent reader to repeat the work done by the authors. Tools, materials, hardware/software platforms and frameworks used in the research should also be described.
  6. Clarity: The author should write the method information and research results in the article simply, concisely and effectively so that it is easily understood by the reader.
  7. Organization of presentation: The manuscript should develop/explain the research subject logically and effectively.
  8. Duplication: The manuscript does not repeat the explanation of the published work of the author or others.Check whether the manuscript can be shortened without losing content by putting together two or more tables and figures.Reviewers can give some comments if there is duplication in the text.
  9. Calculations: In some randomly selected cases, Reviewers check if you can verify the calculations made by the authors.
  10. Linkage of Text to Tables and Figures: All tables and figures should be referred to in the text/paragraphs. Statements in the text should match the contents of the tables and figures.
  11. Titles of Tables and Figures: Titles should state the content. Please suggest ways to improve the quality of table/image titles.
  12. Title in Table/Captionl: interpretation should be clear and unequivocal and use correct SI units.
  13. Graphs: Data for presenting graphs/figures must be accurate.
  14. Conclusion: Conclusions to answer hypotheses must be adequately and clearly stated and must be supported by data and tests.
  15. Conjectures: Authors should clearly distinguish between conjecture and fact.
  16. References: All references in the manuscript must be listed in the Bibliography. References amount to at least 10 pieces with 60% in the form of primary references (scientific journals, proceedings articles, reference books, theses/dissertations) and published within the last 10 (Ten) years.

Submitting Review Results

After the bestary partner is willing to review, you can download the article file and additional files. You can fill out a review form or comment or upload a file for the editor and/or author about the results of your review. You are expected to provide recommendations regarding the quality of the article.Reviews should be completed within 4 weeks. If you need more time, you can inform the Editor (altruistik@unimed.ac.id).
