ALTRUISTIK : Jurnal Kajian dan Psikologi Pendidikan is a journal that goes through a double-blind peer-review process. Every paper submitted to ALTRUISTIK : Jurnal Kajian dan Psikologi Pendidikan for publication is subject to peer review. Peer review in this journal is the evaluation of a paper submitted by two or more individuals with similar competencies to the author. It aims to determine the suitability of the academic paper for publication. The Peer-Review method is used to maintain quality standards and give the paper credibility. Peer review in ALTRUISTIK : Jurnal Kajian dan Psikologi Pendidikan takes ithe n 9 stages with the following description.
1. Academic Manuscript Submission
Correspondent authors or submitters submit papers to the journal. This is done through an online system supported by the Open Journal System (OJS). However, to make it easier for authors, ALTRUISTIK : Jurnal Kajian dan Psikologi Pendidikan also temporarily accepts paper submissions via email.
2. Editorial Team Assessment
Submitted papers are first assessed by ALTRUISTIK : Jurnal Kajian dan Psikologi Pendidikan. The editors check whether they align with the journal's focus and scope. The composition and organization of the paper are evaluated against the journal's Author Guidelines to ensure it includes the necessary sections and stylizations. In addition, an assessment of the minimum required quality of the paper for publication begins at this step, includiisassessing whether there are any major methodological flaws. Any submitted paper that passes this step will be checked using the reviewingin tool to identify any plagiarism before reviewing by the Reviewers.
3. Assessment by the Editor-in-Chief
The Editor-in-Chief checks whether the paper is appropriatengagingournal, sufficiently original, engaging, and significant for publication. Otherwise, the paper may be rejected without further review.
4. Invitation to Bestiary Partners
The handling editor sends invitations to bestiary partners who are believed to be suitable reviewers (also known as raters) based on expertise, the closeness of research interests, and no conflict of interest considerations. The Peer-Review process in ALTRUISTIK : Jurnal Kajian dan Psikologi Pendidikan involves a community of experts in the field of guidance and counselling and educational psychology who are qualified and capable of conducting a fairly impartial review. Impartiality is also maintained by the Double-Blind Peer-Review used in this journal. This means that the reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and the authors do not know the identity of the reviewers. Papers are sent to the reviewers anonymously.
5. Response to Invitation
Potential reviewers consider the invitation based on their expertise, conflicts of interest, and availability. They then decide to accept or decline. In the invitation letter, the editor may ask the prospective reviewer to obtain advice from alternative reviewers, when he or she declines to review.
6. Article Review Process
The reviewing partner allocates time to read the paper several times. The first reading is used to form an initial impression of the work. If major problems are found at this stage, the reviewers may feel comfortable rejecting the paper without further work. Otherwise, they will read the paper several more times, taking notes to build up a detailed point-by-point review. The peer review is then submitted to the journal, with a recommendation to accept, or reject it, or with a request for revisions (usually marked as major or minor) before reconsideration.
7. Team Evaluates Review Results
The Editor-in-Chief and handling editor considers all returned reviews before making an overall decision. If the reviews differ greatly between the two reviewers, the handling editor may invite additional bestiary partners for additional opinions before making a decision.
8. Review the Decision
The editor sends an E-Mail with the decision to the author including the relevant bestiary partner comments. The reviewers' comments are sent anonymously to the corresponding author to take the necessary actions and responses. At this point, the bestiary partner will also be sent an email or letter informing them of the outcome of their review.
9. Final Step
If accepted, the manuscript article is sent to "copy-editing". If the article is rejected or sent back to the author for Major or Minor revisions, the Section Editor will include constructive comments from the reviewers to help the author improve the article. The author should make corrections and revise the article according to the bestiary partner's comments and instructions.
Once revisions have been made, the author should resubmit the revised paper to the editor. If the article is resubmitted for revision, the best aerial partners should review it again to accept the revised version, unless they have chosen not to participate further. However, where only minor changes are requested, this follow-up review can be done by the Handling Editor.
If the Editor is happy with the revised article, then the article is declared ACCEPTED. Accepted articles will be published online and all are freely available as downloadable pdf files.
