Correction and Retraction Policy
Jurnal Keluarga Sehat Sejahtera (JKSS) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal recognizes that errors or ethical concerns may occasionally arise in published articles. To address such issues responsibly, JKSS may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions in accordance with the nature and seriousness of the case.
This policy follows recognized publication ethics principles, including the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Corrections
A correction may be issued when an error is identified in a published article and the error affects the accuracy, clarity, or completeness of the publication but does not invalidate its overall findings or conclusions.
Corrections may address errors such as inaccurate author information, incorrect data or references, typographical errors that affect meaning, or other significant mistakes.
Requests for corrections may be submitted by authors, readers, editors, or other relevant parties. The editorial team will assess the request and determine whether a formal correction is necessary.
Published correction notices will identify the original article, describe the error, and explain the correction made. The original article will remain accessible, with an appropriate link to the correction notice.
2. Retractions
A retraction may be issued when the reliability or integrity of a published article is substantially compromised. Reasons for retraction may include, but are not limited to:
-
Evidence of data fabrication or falsification.
-
Plagiarism or substantial unattributed use of others' work.
-
Serious errors that invalidate the research findings or conclusions.
-
Unethical research practices or significant violations of research ethics.
-
Duplicate publication that substantially misrepresents the originality of the work.
-
Other serious breaches of publication ethics that undermine the reliability of the scholarly record.
Retraction decisions will be based on an assessment of the available evidence and the seriousness of the concern. The editorial team may consult the authors, relevant institutions, research ethics committees, or other appropriate parties before making a decision.
A retraction notice will clearly identify the retracted article, explain the reasons for the retraction, and provide a link to the original publication. The original article will generally remain available in the journal archive but will be clearly marked as retracted to preserve the transparency of the scholarly record.
3. Expressions of Concern
An expression of concern may be published when credible concerns about a published article arise but the investigation is incomplete, delayed, or unable to reach a conclusive outcome.
The notice will explain the nature of the concern to the extent that the available evidence permits. It may be updated or followed by a correction or retraction when further information becomes available.
4. Procedure for Handling Requests
Requests or allegations concerning errors or potential misconduct in published articles may be submitted to the editorial team through the journal's official contact channels.
The editorial team will:
-
Review the reported issue and available supporting evidence.
-
Request clarification or additional documentation when necessary.
-
Give relevant authors an appropriate opportunity to respond.
-
Consult independent experts or relevant institutions when appropriate.
-
Determine the appropriate action based on the evidence and applicable publication ethics principles.
-
Communicate the decision to the relevant parties and publish a notice when required.
All cases will be handled fairly, objectively, and confidentially to the extent possible.
5. Editorial Responsibility
The Editor-in-Chief and editorial team are responsible for assessing correction and retraction requests and determining the appropriate editorial response. Decisions will be made independently, without inappropriate influence from authors, institutions, sponsors, or other external parties.
The journal will take reasonable steps to ensure that published notices are transparent, accessible, and appropriately linked to the affected articles.
6. Commitment to Publication Integrity
Jurnal Keluarga Sehat Sejahtera is committed to correcting the scholarly record whenever necessary. Corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions are intended to protect readers, uphold research integrity, and maintain trust in academic publishing.
