Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Keluarga Sehat Sejahtera (JKSS) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, or any other form of unethical appropriation of intellectual work.

All submitted manuscripts must represent original scholarly work. Authors are required to acknowledge and cite all sources appropriately, including ideas, statements, data, tables, figures, and other materials derived from previously published or unpublished works.

1. Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism-detection software or other appropriate methods to identify similarities with previously published works and available sources.

The editorial team evaluates similarity reports carefully and considers the context of the matched text, including proper quotations, references, standard terminology, and methodological descriptions. A similarity score alone does not automatically establish plagiarism.

2. Author Responsibilities

Authors submitting manuscripts to JKSS must:

  1. Ensure that their manuscripts are original and properly acknowledge the work of others.

  2. Provide accurate citations and references for all borrowed ideas, data, and materials.

  3. Use quotation marks and appropriate citations when reproducing text verbatim.

  4. Avoid submitting manuscripts that have already been published or are simultaneously under consideration by another journal.

  5. Disclose any relevant overlap with their previously published work.

  6. Obtain permission to reuse copyrighted materials when required.

3. Similarity Assessment

The editorial team assesses each manuscript individually. Manuscripts containing substantial unattributed similarities, inappropriate text reuse, or other evidence of plagiarism may be returned for revision or rejected.

Where necessary, the editorial team may request clarification from the authors or conduct further investigation before making a decision.

4. Actions in Cases of Plagiarism

If plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct are identified, JKSS may take appropriate action depending on the nature, extent, and severity of the violation. Such actions may include:

  • Requesting clarification or revisions from the authors.

  • Rejecting the submitted manuscript.

  • Withdrawing a manuscript from the publication process.

  • Publishing a correction, expression of concern, or retraction for an already published article, where justified.

  • Notifying the relevant institution or organization when appropriate and supported by the circumstances.

All allegations will be handled fairly and confidentially, following established publication ethics procedures.

5. Editorial Responsibility

The editors of JKSS are responsible for evaluating potential plagiarism cases objectively and consistently. Decisions will be based on the available evidence, the context of the similarities, and recognized publication ethics principles.

The journal follows the publication ethics guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to support responsible research and scholarly publishing.

6. Policy Compliance

By submitting a manuscript to Jurnal Keluarga Sehat Sejahtera, authors acknowledge their responsibility to comply with this plagiarism policy and all other applicable publication ethics requirements.
