Double-Blind Peer Review Policy

Jurnal Keluarga Sehat Sejahtera (JKSS) applies a double-blind peer-review process to ensure the objective, fair, and independent evaluation of submitted manuscripts. Under this system, the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the peer-review process.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts are first assessed by the editorial team to determine their suitability for the journal's focus and scope, originality, academic quality, and compliance with the journal's submission guidelines.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements may be rejected or returned to the authors for improvement before proceeding to peer review.

2. Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, research experience, and ability to evaluate the manuscript objectively.

The journal aims to assign reviewers who have no conflicts of interest with the authors, their institutions, or the research being evaluated.

3. Double-Blind Review Procedure

In the double-blind peer-review process:

  1. Authors' identifying information is removed from the manuscript provided to reviewers.

  2. Reviewers' identities are not disclosed to the authors.

  3. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript independently and provide constructive comments and recommendations.

  4. The editor considers the reviewers' reports and makes the final editorial decision.

  5. Authors receive the editorial decision and relevant reviewer comments to guide revisions.

Authors are encouraged to remove identifying information from the manuscript file, including names, institutional affiliations, acknowledgments, and other details that may reveal their identities. Citations to the authors' previous work should remain academically appropriate and must not be manipulated to conceal authorship.

4. Review Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and contribution to scholarly knowledge.

  • Relevance to the journal's aims and scope.

  • Clarity of research objectives.

  • Appropriateness and rigor of the research methodology.

  • Accuracy of data analysis and interpretation.

  • Quality of discussion and conclusions.

  • Adequacy of references and literature review.

  • Compliance with research ethics and publication standards.

5. Editorial Decisions

Based on the reviewers' recommendations and the editor's assessment, manuscripts may be accepted, accepted subject to minor revisions, returned for major revisions, or rejected.

The final decision rests with the editor, who considers the quality of the manuscript, the reviewers' evaluations, and the journal's publication standards.

6. Confidentiality and Ethical Responsibilities

Editors and reviewers must treat submitted manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose or use unpublished information without authorization.

Reviewers must provide fair, objective, and evidence-based evaluations and disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest. Authors must respond to reviewer comments professionally and revise their manuscripts when required.

7. Commitment to Review Integrity

Jurnal Keluarga Sehat Sejahtera is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, confidentiality, and academic integrity throughout the double-blind peer-review process. The journal follows recognized publication ethics principles, including the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
