Education is one of the main pillars in the progress of a country, and the quality of education is greatly influenced by the role of teachers in the learning process. This study aims to examine the effect of teacher teaching style on students' motivation to learn mathematics at SDN 060792 East Medan. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews and direct observation. The research subjects consisted of the fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Nursyamsu Nasution, and eight fourth grade students. The results showed that the teacher's teaching style that involves students, pays attention to psychological factors, and relates the material to everyday life can increase students' learning motivation. In addition, good interactions between teachers and students and the creation of a safe and supportive learning environment also contribute significantly to students' motivation. This study recommends that teachers apply a variety of interesting and relevant teaching styles to increase students' motivation to learn mathematics, so that the learning process becomes more effective and enjoyable. Thus, teachers' teaching styles have a significant impact on students' motivation and learning achievement, which in turn can contribute to the achievement of national education goals.References
